Last year was huge for Austin’s own Soul Track Mind with the release of their third album, the well-reviewed “Unbreakable” and capturing the prestigious Louisiana Music Prize among the highlights. This year is shaping up to be just as big for Austin’s favorite get-your-booty-on-the-floor-and-dance band!

Following a couple of tour dates that included performances at the Big Nac Music Festival, helping kick off the 2015 Louisiana Music Prize with a rousing performance, and recording at the legendary Royal Studios with studio legend and wunderkind Lawrence “Boo” Mitchell — known for his work with greats such as Al Green, Solomon Burke, Anthony Hamilton, Rod Stewart and John Mayer amongst others – Soul Track Mind returned to Austin this past week just in time for SXSW and their first appearance in an official festival showcase highlighting some of the best funk and soul bands in the nation.

The group will take the stage during Saturday’s show at the Palm Door (401 Sabine St, Austin, TX 7870) at 1 a.m. Sunday morning giving fans and the festival
s ardent crowds of music lovers a funkified tour de force that the Austin American-Statesman said “is best experienced live” — for free!

That’s right! No badges, no cover and no wristbands needed to see one of Austin’s best local acts do its thing alongside Con Brio, The NightOwls and other talented bands. It’s a rare opportunity. So line up early, dance hard and stay late for a show featuring one of Austin’s brightest rising stars, Soul Track lead singer Donovan Keith, as he continues to propel this hidden SXSW’s gems into the national spotlight.
